PSA: a flat iron can actually clean up dry shampoo buildup if you do it right

I was at a client's house in Portland last week and noticed her roots were looking kinda chalky from dry shampoo. Instead of washing it all out, I tried running a low heat flat iron over the sections quickly and it smoothed the powder right into her hair. No more white cast and it saved me a re-style. Has anyone else tried this or found a better way to deal with dry shampoo residue?

Wait you ran a flat iron over DRY SHAMPOO buildup? That sounds like it would burn the powder into the hair or melt it. I've never tried that but I have clients who layer dry shampoo three days in a row and it gets gross. Makes sense though if you use really low heat and move fast. Still wild to me.

The whole flat iron thing sounds dramatic but honestly its just styling. People act like were melting plastic onto hair. Ive seen stylists use straighteners on hair with a ton of product in it and it turns out fine if you know what youre doing. The big issue is people piling on dry shampoo for days without washing. That stuff builds up and gets funky. Low heat and a quick pass isnt going to ruin anything. A bad haircut is way more of a disaster than that.
