Pro tip: stop using cheap hair elastics on thick hair clients
One of my regulars broke three elastics in one visit last week, and her hair was a tangled mess. I switched to those spiral no-snag bands and it fixed the problem completely. Any brands you all trust that actually hold up?

Oh totally, the spiral bands are a lifesaver for thick hair. I'd also suggest looking into the ponytail holders that are basically just thick fabric loops with no metal closure, they grip way better than those cheap plastic ones. Honestly once you switch over it's hard to go back because they don't leave that weird crimp in your hair either.

Ugh, is it really that deep though? I mean, it's a hair tie, not a life decision. People act like switching to a fabric loop is some kind of spiritual awakening and honestly I just don't get it. I've been using the same cheap plastic ones from the drugstore for years and my hair's fine, no major damage or anything. Maybe I'm just not that picky but I feel like there's way bigger problems in the world than whether your ponytail leaves a little dent.
