Just saw a salon in Portland charging $85 for a 'single process' color, no cut or style included. That's wild to me, but maybe I'm out of touch?

That price tracks for Portland honestly. It's like the new normal for basic services to have a luxury price tag. My local car wash started charging $40 for a basic wash and vacuum. Even a simple burger and fries at a casual spot can run you $25 now without a drink. Feels like the baseline cost for anything that isn't groceries just keeps jumping up.

I get where you're coming from @paige870, but my experience is different. I still find solid food trucks with full meals under $15 and my mechanic hasn't raised his labor rate in two years. Maybe it depends on which parts of town you're spending time in.
