Just hit 500 permanent makeup clients and it threw me for a loop
I was going over my books last night for tax season and realized I've done exactly 503 PMU procedures since I started offering it three years ago. That number really surprised me because I only do it two days a week between haircuts and color. I remember how nervous I was with my first microblading client and now I can knock out a full set of brows in about an hour and a half. Has anyone else tracked their numbers and been surprised by what you've actually accomplished?

The "threw me for a loop" part really hit home. I had a similar moment last month when I was cleaning out my old appointment books. I do lash extensions and some microblading and I just about dropped my coffee when I saw I'd done almost 400 sets of lashes in my first two years. It's wild how the numbers add up without you really noticing because you're just focused on each client one at a time. I remember my very first lash set took me like three hours and now I can bang out a full classic set in under two. It's that feeling of looking back and realizing how far you've come without even feeling yourself improve along the way. Makes you appreciate all those nervous early days a little more.

Ha, "three hours for a first lash set" - @wren_smith44, I bet your first clients got more coffee breaks than lash extensions. Makes you wonder what we'd think if we saw our early work now.

Oh man, reading this actually changed my whole mindset on tracking numbers. I used to think keeping count was just vanity numbers or whatever, but seeing how you and wren both had these moments where the reality hit you totally makes me get it now. It's kind of humbling in a weird way because you're so in the grind day to day that you never stop to see the bigger picture of all the faces you've helped. I bet your first microblading client would be blown away seeing how fast and clean you work now compared to back then.
