I tried a new color remover on a client's hair and it turned green

A client came in wanting to go from dark brown to a light ash blonde, so I used a popular color remover I'd never tried before. The box said it would lift up to 4 levels, but after the 45 minute process, her hair had this weird minty green tint all over. I had to do two rounds of a direct dye filler to correct it, which added over an hour to the appointment. I learned that some removers can pull out underlying pigments in a really weird way if the hair has old color on it. Has anyone else had a color remover pull green, and what's your go-to fix when this happens?

Sounds like a pretty standard color correction to me. That green tint happens all the time with certain removers, it's just part of the process. Not really a big deal if you know how to fix it.

Yeah but that green tint can actually hide other problems. If you just fix the color you might miss leftover adhesive or even surface damage. I've seen people get a perfect looking finish only to have it fail way too soon because they didn't check the surface under the tint first. It's not just a color fix, it's a sign you need to look closer.
