I finally figured out why my toner kept turning orange on clients
I had three clients in a row last month at my booth in Portland where their toner went brassy after just two weeks. Turns out I was using too high of a volume developer on their fine hair, which was lifting the undercoat too much. Has anyone else dealt with this or found a go to brand that doesn't push past the deposit color?

Wait, you're saying three clients all had the same issue in a row? That's wild, I would have lost my mind after the second one.

The right developer volume makes ALL the difference with fine hair. I had this exact problem until I switched down to a 10 volume on fine hair and started timing it instead of leaving it on by feel. Also try a blue or purple based toner instead of a neutral one, it cancels out the brass before it even starts. Took me way too long to figure that out but now my toner stays true for a full month on most clients.
