Finally figured out why my hair masks weren't sinking in after 6 years in the chair

I started applying them to soaking wet hair instead of towel-dried and the difference in absorption was so dramatic my client asked if I swapped brands, anyone else find random little tricks like this that make way more sense in practice than they do in the textbook?

Oh man, I read somewhere that hair cuticles open up more when they're fully saturated with water versus just damp. Something about how the water helps the product spread more evenly instead of sitting on top. Tried it myself with my deep conditioner and yeah, huge difference. It feels counterintuitive because you think you'd just be diluting the product, but it actually lets it penetrate way better.
