Can we talk about how I was holding my shears wrong for 6 years and a client finally said something?
I was cutting a regular's hair in my chair in Columbus and she goes, 'your fingers look kinda twisted there, hon.' I laughed it off in the moment, but later that night I filmed my own hands and saw it plain as day, I was riding my ring finger on the pivot instead of the thumb, which is why my lines always drifted on the right side. 6 years of blaming dull blades and cheap shears when the whole time it was my grip. Spent 20 minutes on a practice head fixing it and my sectioning got cleaner right away. Any of you ever get called out by a client mid cut like that, and did you brush it off or actually go home and look?
