Can we talk about bleach bowls cracking mid-service?

I had a brand new ceramic bowl split right down the middle while I was processing a full head of highlights last Thursday. Client was fine but I had to dump the mixture into a spare plastic bowl and run to the supply store between rinse and tone. I swear the cheaper plastic bowls never crack this way but they stain after a month. Am I wrong for thinking the ceramic ones are overrated or am I just buying the wrong brand?

Ngl I see this all the time with ceramic bowls and it drives me crazy. The issue is a lot of ceramic bowls have tiny hairline cracks from the factory that you can't see until heat from the bleach hits them. Cheap plastic bowls suck for staining but at least they don't explode bleach all over your station. If you want ceramic that won't crack look for ones labeled "lead-free professional grade" not the pretty gift shop ones.

Fifty dollars for a ceramic bowl that still cracks after two months though.
