A regular told me my blowouts were making her hair feel like straw

She said the heat was too high and she could smell it burning. I switched to a lower setting on my dryer and started using a thermal protectant spray from the back room. Anyone have a favorite heat protectant that doesn't leave hair sticky?

Used to skip protectant until a client's hair got fried.

And that's the thing, right? It's like we all think we can take shortcuts until something bad actually happens. I see it all the time with people at work who skip the safety steps on the forklift because they're in a hurry, then one little bump and it's a whole ordeal. Same with skincare or even just cooking - everyone wants to skip the preheat or the primer coat. But the proof is always in the mess you have to clean up later.

Yeah, learned that the hard way too. Now I just use a cheap spray bottle with water and a little conditioner before any heat. Works fine.
