PSA: Fieldwire actually got slower after their big update last fall

Everyone keeps raving about the Fieldwire interface changes from October, but I've seen the opposite on my jobsites. Before the update I could load a 50-page set of plans in about 12 seconds on my iPad. Now it takes 25 to 30 seconds for the same file, and I've timed it three times this week alone. They added those color-coded pin filters which look nice, but the app hangs every time I try to switch between markup layers. My foreman switched to PlanGrid last month after the same glitches, and his load times dropped back to 10 seconds. Has anyone else noticed their older iPads struggling worse after this update?

Wait, 12 seconds to 30 seconds? That's almost three times as long. I gotta ask, what version of iPadOS are you running? Because I saw a similar jump on my iPad Air 3 and it turned out Fieldwire basically dropped support for anything older than iPadOS 15. The color coded pins are pretty but they kill the RAM on older devices. I had to delete and reinstall the app twice just to get it working again, still slower than before though.

Oh wait, I used to totally disagree with that take @sage_perry but now youre making me rethink it, especially with the color coded pins eating up RAM on my old Air 3. Might have to try deleting and reinstalling just to test if its really the app version thats killing it.
