Picked Procore over Buildertrend for my small crew, no regrets so far
I run a 4-man crew doing residential remodels in Portland. I spent 2 weeks trying both Procore and Buildertrend last month. Buildertrend felt like it was made for big companies with features I'd never use. Procore was a pain to set up but once I got the hang of it, the scheduling and field reports are way smoother. My guys actually use the app on site without me having to nag them. The cost is a bit more at $400 a month but I'm saving time on paperwork. Has anyone else tried both and stuck with one?

@AdventurousHuman Yeah, simpler tools for smaller crews just work like a good pair of work boots.

Tbh I think that's a bit romanticized. I've seen too many small crews burn through cheap tile saws and vinyl cutters that just don't hold up past one or two big jobs. My buddy runs a two-man team and he bought a basic wet saw for like $200 last spring. By August the motor was shot and the blade guard was bent. He spent more time fighting that thing than actually cutting. Sometimes you really do gotta spend a little more upfront, even if you're small.
