I finally switched from paper schedules to a proper app for my crew
Honestly, I was using printed weekly sheets for my 5-man crew until last month. The difference is crazy, we cut our morning meeting time in half because everyone just checks their phones. Tbh, the real win was when a material delivery got moved, and I updated it once instead of calling everyone. Has anyone else found a simple app that works for small crews without all the extra stuff?

That "update it once instead of calling everyone" is the best feeling. We made the same switch last year and it saved so many headaches.

We started using a simple shared spreadsheet for our team's on-call schedule. Before that, someone would text the group chat, then three people would reply asking for clarification, and the whole thing was a mess. Now you just update the Google Sheet and the calendar invite goes out automatically. It cut down the back-and-forth emails by at least half, which is huge when you're trying to cover shifts.

Honestly @river182, that sounds like it just adds another place to check. The old way was messy but at least everyone saw the text right away in the chat. Now you have to remember to go look at a sheet and hope the calendar invite doesn't get lost in spam.
