I finally figured out why my crew kept missing RFI deadlines, and it was our own inbox
I've been running RFIs through my personal email for about 2 years because it felt faster than the project software, and last month a sub in Tacoma sent a question about a beam clash that sat unread for 9 days. My PM pulled up the log and showed me 14 open items I had no idea about, all buried between supply house quotes and lunch orders. I moved everything into the RFI module that same afternoon, set auto reminders at day 3, and we closed 11 of those 14 in a single week. Still kind of embarrassed it took a missed deadline to see it. How do you all handle RFIs when the field guys just want to text you instead?
