I finally checked how much time my crew spends on paper forms

Found out last week that my guys are logging about 18 hours a week just filling out daily reports and safety sheets by hand. That stat came from running a time audit on a single job site in Phoenix. Has anyone else actually measured what paperwork is costing them?

All the little forms" is exactly right, we found the same thing small stuff like equipment sign-outs and incident reports really pile up. My guys just deal with it, but I could tell they were annoyed when I asked them to log their time on it.

Oh man, did that number hit close to home. We clocked about 15 hours a week on a similar audit for our crew doing concrete work in Denver last spring. It was wild seeing it laid out like that all the little forms for safety, daily logs, equipment checks it adds up way faster than you think. Have you noticed any pushback from your guys about it, or do they just deal with it?
