Hot take: That estimator's advice on Bluebeam actually saved me 3 hours this week
My senior estimator told me to stop manually counting takeoffs and use the 'count' tool in Bluebeam for roof tiles. I thought he was overcomplicating it but I tried it on a 12,000 sq ft job and finished the takeoff in 20 minutes instead of 2 hours. Any other quick shortcuts you've picked up that seem small but add up?

oh man tell your senior estimator i owe him a coffee or something because i was out here clicking each tile like it was 2005. i swear i spent like an hour last week counting roof tiles on a small house and my wrist was cramping up. then my coworker walks by and goes "uh you know the count tool does that in like 30 seconds right" and i wanted to throw my laptop out the window. same thing with the measure tool for linear feet on gutters i was drawing lines like a chump for months before someone showed me you can just select the polyline and bam there's your total. feels like the software is way smarter than me and im just its clumsy assistant or something.

Right there with you, I felt like such a dope when I learned the measure tool after weeks of doing it the hard way too.
