Digital blueprints left my seasoned crew scratching their heads.

Basic controls consumed a full day of training time.

Digital blueprints tripping up a seasoned crew is a bad sign. The software likely has a messy interface that makes easy stuff hard. That's why training takes forever.

Did they try showing everyone just the tools they need for their specific job instead of the whole software at once? We had that same problem and it was a mess until we stopped group training. I spent a couple days with each person, hands on with their actual daily tasks. It took way longer at the start but they actually got it and stopped making errors.

Yeah that part about "showing everyone just the tools they need" is so true. I always pushed for full group training to save time, thought it was more fair. But watching people struggle with stuff they'd never use proved me wrong. Tailoring it to their actual tasks is slower but it actually works, doesn't it? You waste less time fixing mistakes later.
