Dropped $220 on a ghost hunting kit after a podcast episode and my own kitchen fan proved more haunted
So last October I got really into a late night podcast about local hauntings and ended up buying one of those beginner ghost hunting kits for $220. It came with an EMF meter, a spirit box, and a little thermal camera thing that clips to your phone. I took it to an old hotel in Cheyenne that people swear is haunted and got nothing but static and cold spots that were probably just drafts. Then I tried my own apartment and the EMF meter went nuts every time my fridge kicked on. The spirit box just scanned radio stations and once said what sounded like 'beans' and my buddy has not let that go since. The thermal camera did show a weird warm patch by my vent but it turns out that was just the heater. I want to know if anyone here has actually gotten a result that held up to any kind of checking, or if these kits are all just rebranded radio parts. Did I just burn two hundred bucks on a hobby that only works when you already believe it?
