Wasted $70 on that fancy controller grip tape and it ruined my thumbs
Saw these colorful grip stickers for controllers all over TikTok and thought theyd make my old PS4 pad feel new. Slapped them on before a weekend of Elden Ring and by Sunday my thumbs were actually blistered from the texture. Took me 45 minutes to peel all the sticky residue off with goo gone. Anyone else fall for a controller accessory that totally backfired?

My thumbs looked like I'd been grating cheese for a living after using those things. At least my controller smelled like lemon-fresh regret for a week.

Did you actually keep using them that whole week or did you just refuse to throw them away out of spite? I've got a pair of those thumb grips sitting in a drawer somewhere where the rubber started peeling off after three days and it left this weird sticky residue all over my analog sticks. That lemon smell sounds like it came from some cleaner you tried to use to get the game grime off, am I right? How bad did the actual thumb blisters get before you finally chucked those things?
