Vent: My 8 year old's save file vanished and my first instinct was to blame the hardware

Last Tuesday my kid lost a 60 hour Zelda save because the Switch battery died mid-autosave. I was ready to post about Nintendo's dodgy flash storage, but then I checked and realized the real culprit was my habit of yanking the console off the dock without letting it sleep. It took me 20 minutes of digging through support threads to admit that, and it made me wonder how many times we blame the machine when our own routine is the issue. Anyone else had a moment where your console turned out to be innocent?
