Shoutout to the guy in Pittsburgh who watched me die 40 times in Dark Souls and just said 'parry earlier'
I was stuck on the same boss for 3 hours and kept rolling away like an idiot, then a buddy sat next to me and pointed out I was timing my shield block way too late. Turns out the timing window is way more forgiving than I thought once someone actually shows you instead of you guessing. What boss or level made you realize you had been playing a whole game the hard way?
That "parry earlier" advice hits home because I read somewhere that most players actually block too late out of panic, not too early. Same thing happened to me in Bloodborne where I kept dodging backward when you're supposed to dodge into the attack. Once you learn the timing it feels stupid easy and you wonder how you ever struggled.
