Shoutout to that old arcade in Portland that still has a working Donkey Kong cabinet

I stopped into Ground Kontrol last weekend and noticed everyone was lining up for the brand new fighting games while this beat-up Donkey Kong machine sat in the corner completely ignored, but I actually think that old cabinet plays way smoother than the modern digital versions with all their input lag. The joystick had that perfect worn-in resistance that newer sticks just don't have (like a well-used garden tool vs a fresh one from the box). Has anyone else found that older arcade hardware just feels more responsive than the modern stuff, or am I just getting old?

Check the edge connector on that old board, they get corroded and cause laggy inputs.
