Overheard a dad at Target tell his kid 'Halo is just a grown-up Mario Kart'

I was picking up snacks near the electronics aisle when this guy said that to his son, who was holding a Halo Infinite case. The kid looked so confused. It got me thinking about how we all kind of gatekeep old games and make comparisons that don't really hold up. Like yeah, both have vehicles and power-ups but that's where it ends. Have you ever heard a wild console comparison that just made you laugh instead of getting mad?

Three full playthroughs of Combat Evolved and I still can't figure out how this guy connects Mario Kart's banana peels to Covenant plasma grenades. His son's probably gonna grow up thinking Master Chief spends his time collecting coins and throwing red shells at Grunts.

Oh come on, he's not totally wrong! Both games are about driving around, grabbing weapons or power-ups, and trying to take out other drivers before they get you first, just with different graphics.
