Guy at the retro game shop told me I was ruining my save files

He said I was yanking the cart out while the power was still on, so now I always hit the reset button first. Has anyone else changed a basic habit like that after one comment?

Man that's funny because it's one of those things you don't think about until someone points it out. I started turning off my computer through the start menu instead of just flipping the power strip after a friend said I was corrupting files the same way. It's wild how one little comment can make you rethink a habit you've been doing for years. Makes me wonder what other small things I'm messing up without realizing it.

Read a piece a while back about how leaving apps open is basically asking for trouble. Supposedly it keeps temp files and caches active even when you're not using them. Same with closing laptop lids without shutting down. Just suspends everything instead of clearing it out. Kinda makes you wonder about all the little digital clutter we build up without knowing.
