Cloud saves seemed pointless until I lost 80 hours of Stardew Valley progress
I always figured local saves were fine. Then my old PS4 hard drive died last month and I lost my entire year 4 farm. Had to start fresh and honestly I still feel the sting. Now I pay for PS Plus mostly just for that feature. Does anyone else ignore cloud saves until something bad happens?

See it the other way personally. I used to think cloud saves were just fancy convenience until my buddy lost his whole Destiny 2 account to a random corruption glitch. Now I treat them like cheap insurance, you never need it until you really really do.

Wait, you’re telling me that’s a real thing that can happen? I always thought cloud saves were kind of pointless, not gonna lie. I’d just back up my stuff to a USB stick and call it a day. But hearing about your buddy losing his whole Destiny 2 account like that, yeah that would mess me up. I figure if it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone, so I might actually start using cloud saves now. Cheap insurance is a good way to put it, better than crying over lost progress later.
