Burned $60 on a 'retro gaming' HDMI adapter for my SNES - just made everything look blurry and awful
Plugged it in last Saturday and the input lag was so bad I couldn't even beat the first level of Super Mario World. Has anyone else fallen for one of these cheap adapters or is there actually a decent one out there?

The thing with those cheap HDMI adapters is theyre usually just taking the composite signal and slapping it into an HDMI wrapper. So youre getting all that blur and lag because the console is still spitting out the lowest quality video signal. What you actually want is something that handles the RGB or S-Video signal from the SNES, not the standard yellow composite cable. Hyperkin makes one that actually works alright, the HD Retrovision cables are good too but theyre expensive. The key is you need something that converts the raw video signal, not just changes the plug shape. Also make sure your TV is set to game mode if it has one, that helps with lag on modern screens.
