Bought that Hori steering wheel for $150 and it broke in 3 weeks
Picked up that Hori Racing Wheel Apex for Xbox and PlayStation back in March thinking it would be a good entry level setup. The force feedback went dead after maybe 15 hours of play, and now the thing just rattles like a broken toy. Anyone else get burned by those budget wheels or did I just get a lemon?

Wait wasn't that thing supposed to be like "entry level" not "broken level"? I swear those budget wheels are a total gamble, you either get one that lasts a year or one that dies after a week. Mine started making this awful grinding noise before the force feedback completely crapped out, sounded like a blender full of rocks. Pretty sure Hori just uses the same cheap plastic gears in all their wheels and hopes nobody plays enough to break them. You probably didn't get a lemon honestly, that's just what $150 gets you these days which is basically a fancy paperweight that simulates driving for like a month. Next time just save up for a Logitech or something, at least those have a warranty that actually means something.

@julia286 that blender comparison is spot on, mine made the exact same noise before it died. What worked for me was just going used honestly. Found a T300 on Facebook marketplace for like $80 with a busted pedal set, spent another $30 on replacement pedals and it's been running strong for over two years now. Way better than throwing money at these new budget wheels that are basically designed to break.
