Watched a guy in Fort Worth skip the power trowel and his floor still looked like glass
I always figured you had to burn a slab in with the power trowel to get that hard shine, so I ran mine on every pour for the past 7 years. Then a guy named Ruben let me watch his crew finish a 2,400 square foot shop floor in Fort Worth and he never touched one. He hand floated it twice, waited for the bleed water to dry up, then went straight to steel. His floor came out flatter than mine and he saved about two hours of labor. Has anyone else gone back to hand work on big pours, or am I crazy for thinking about it?
