That pour last Tuesday in Phoenix nearly killed me

It was 108 degrees at noon. 8 yards of 4000 psi mix. We had 45 minutes before it set. Crew of 3. By the time we got the bull float on half the water was gone. Microcracks everywhere. Had to hit it with a rescue spray. Worst part was the homeowner watching from his patio with a beer. We finished at 4pm feeling like zombies. Anyone else deal with desert pours going bad in the heat?

Keep the ice trick handy @seth_green85 - that heat eats concrete alive.

Bet your slump test was a puddle by the time it hit the forms. Next time add some ice to the mix water and use white aggregate if you can get it, reflects heat way better than gray.
