Switched from hand troweling to power troweling halfway through a 40-yard slab last week
The guy I subbed for said I'd never go back after trying his ride-on trowel, and he was right, it cut my finishing time by 3 hours and the surface came out flatter than anything I've done by hand, but has anyone else had issues with the edges not matching up to the center finish?

Stick with a hand float along the edges and then blend it in while the power trowel is still working the wetter spots. I've found that gap between the pan and the wall leaves a little ridge if you don't hit it quick enough. Run the ride-on close to the forms but keep a finisher with a Fresno right behind it to catch those last few inches.
