Spent 4 hours trying to fix a low spot in a garage slab and it just kept sinking
I had this garage slab last Tuesday that looked perfect when I finished troweling. Came back the next morning to pour the apron and there was this quarter inch dip right by the overhead door track. Figured I could just skim coat it with a patch mix real quick. Four hours later I had tried three different repair products, two different bonding agents, and even a heat gun trying to accelerate the cure. Nothing would stay level because the original slab had a slight crown next to it that kept the patch from bonding flat. Had to end up grinding the high spot down instead which took another hour. Has anyone else run into a situation where fixing a small defect took way longer than the whole original pour?

Hitting it with a heat gun is brutal lol, did you try a bonding agent that was specifically for vertical or overhead repairs? I'm wondering if that would have made any difference for you.

Man, it's like everything needs the perfect tool these days. @jessicamiller you're probably right, the right bonding agent could've saved me the heat gun drama. Just feels like nothing's built for real life anymore, just perfect conditions in a lab.
