So I had to choose between a bull float and a jitterbug on a weird patch of concrete last month

We were finishing a garage slab in Tempe, and this one corner kept getting these weird little air bubbles right as it set up. My partner said to hit it with the jitterbug to pop them, but I was worried it would bring up too much cream and mess with the final finish. I went with the bull float, thinking a gentler pass would settle it. Big mistake. The bubbles just got trapped underneath, and when we came back for the final trowel, it looked like the surface of the moon in that spot. We had to grind it down the next day, which added like two hours to the job. My partner hasn't let me live it down. Ever had a finish look perfect until that last second when it totally isn't?

Sometimes the wrong tool feels right until you're staring at a crater.

Ever notice how this happens with relationships too?

Yeah exactly like that. Sean's crater line is spot on, I've totally been there. You think you're fixing something and then boom, whole thing's blown up.
