Saw a huge difference in a driveway after switching from a 4-foot to a 6-foot bull float. The finish was way flatter, way faster.

Honestly, bigger floats just cover more ground so you get less of those annoying trowel marks.

That "cover more ground" thing is so true. It's like using a wider paint roller, you just get the job done faster with less mess.

Haha I'm not so sure about that. I've used smaller floats my whole life and never had issues with trowel marks. It's all about technique, not the tool size lol. I see guys with big floats leaving way more streaks and ridges than I'd ever get with my 8 inch one. Honestly, I think people just overthink this stuff. It's concrete finishing not brain surgery. Just get comfortable with whatever you're using and you'll be fine.
