Pro tip: I finally figured out why my broom finish kept tearing on that big pad in Phoenix last week.
The sun was baking the surface too fast, so I started spraying a light mist of water on the slab right before I broomed. Anyone else have a trick for hot weather finishing?

That Phoenix sun is no joke, it'll flash off a slab in minutes. I've had the same tearing happen on a driveway in Bakersfield last July. We ended up mixing in a retarder for the whole pour, but your misting trick is smart for a quick fix. Sometimes you just have to outrun the heat.

Ever try a sunshade tarp on a roller frame?

Misting can actually make it worse if the sun's really beating down. It can cause the top to set up faster than the bottom.
