Polymer fibers skeptic no more after that garage slab in Tucson

I spent 15 years pouring plain wire mesh and calling it good. Last month a buddy of mine, Dave who runs a crew in Tucson, talked me into trying polymer microfibers on a 40 yard garage pour. I told him it was a gimmick and a waste of $120 per yard. He said, "Watch the rebound on the edges and tell me it's not better." We did the pour at 6am when it was already 90 degrees, and honestly the surface held cream way longer without bleeding. Cracking around the control joints was almost nonexistent after 3 weeks, and I usually see at least a couple hairline ones by then. I still think wire has its place for structural stuff, but for flatwork, I'm fully converted. Has anyone else switched over and seen better results with their finishers bitching less about the mix?
