I finally swapped from hand troweling to a power trowel on my last driveway pour in Phoenix

Everyone says hand finishing gives better control for residential slabs, but after fighting 105 degree heat and watching my edges set too fast for 3 straight jobs, the power trowel gave me a consistent finish in half the time with way less knee pain. Has anyone else made the switch and seen better flatness results on their large pours?

Respectfully, I've had nothing but problems with power trowels grabbing on hot slabs in Phoenix.

What kind of mix are you running out there? Ive seen that grabbing issue a lot when theres too much sand or the mix is too dry, especially on a hot day. Are you finishing it while its still going off fast, or are you waiting longer to get on it?
