Hit 15,000 sq ft of stamped work and only now noticed my pattern size

I was tallying up my jobs from the last three years and realized I've placed 15,000 sq ft of stamped concrete, but my repeat pattern spacing was off by half an inch the whole time... has anyone else ever missed something that obvious until a random count?

That half inch on the repeat pattern is a tough one to catch, especially when you're just moving along job to job. I had a similar thing happen with a border layout a few years back, where I was off by a quarter inch on the corner wraps for like 40 house jobs before a homeowner's son, who was an architect, pointed it out on a drawing. My best advice is to notch a piece of rebar or a scrap board to your exact spacing and keep it in the truck, then you can check that every time you start a new section. Also, make a habit of stepping back and measuring the whole pour once before it sets, not just the start, because that's where the drift sneaks in.
