Heard a kid call our trowel a 'smooth scraper' today

Was finishing a walkway out in Aurora yesterday and this young apprentice on the neighboring crew points at my magnesium float and asks if that's for scraping paint. I laughed, told him it's been the same basic tool for 40 years, and he looked at me like I was speaking another language. Am I the only one who feels like the old-school hand tools are getting lost on the younger guys coming up?
