Had a slab start to rain on me during a pour in Tacoma last Tuesday
We were about halfway through a 20 yard pour for a garage floor when a sudden downpour hit. I had to scramble to cover the wet concrete with plastic sheets while my partner, Mike, tried to smooth out the water that already got on it. We ended up having to wait an extra hour for the rain to stop and then re-trowel the whole surface. Has anyone else had to deal with surprise weather messing up a finish?

We got caught in a freak hailstorm last spring on a driveway job. My crew had a big roll of 6-mil poly in the truck, so we threw that down fast and weighed the edges with scrap lumber. The real trick was using a propane torch later to gently dry the top layer before we went back over it with the fresno. It saved the finish, but man, it added like three hours to the day.
