Found out a standard concrete truck carries up to 10 yards but only 8 is actually usable if you want a flat finish.
Been finishing slabs for 6 years in Austin and I just learned this from a batch plant operator last Tuesday, any of you guys actually order 10 yards and live with the bump?

Why would you risk it? That bump is easy to screed out if you know what you're doing.

Honestly, that "easy to screed out" advice works great on paper but not so much when you got a 3 inch crown in the middle of the pour. I tried ordering 9 once thinking I could finesse it and ended up with a slab that needed way more bull floating than I planned for. If you're set on ordering the full 10, bring a spare guy to run a second screed pass right behind you or just accept you'll be working the bump out with a straightedge for an extra 10 minutes.
