Blew out a 40-foot sidewalk pour last week - was it me or the mix?

Had a residential sidewalk job over on Maple Street, about 40 feet long, 4 inch thick. Poured it Tuesday morning, came back Wednesday to check and there's a spiderweb of cracks running through the middle third. I finished it with a bull float and broom finish, nothing crazy. My partner says the ready-mix truck sat too long on site before we poured (about 20 minutes waiting for another crew to clear out). I'm thinking maybe I worked the surface too early. What do you guys think kills a slab more - bad timing on the finishing or a mix that's already setting up in the truck? Has anyone else had a truck sit that long and still got good results?

Cracked sidewalk, happens every day, you're overthinking it.
