Watched a tech at the Kansas City airport strip a laptop to bare board for a 4 cent screw, changed how I quote jobs
I was picking up my brother at MCI last October and this guy in the cell phone lot had his ThinkPad spread across the hood of a Civic, tiny screws in a mint tin. He said a tech in Wichita taught him to pull every laptop down to the board on any drop off, because you never know if a loose screw is rolling around in there. I laughed at first, but two months later I found a screw rattling inside a customer's XPS that would've shorted the board in a month. Do you guys do a full teardown on every intake, or just open it up if something feels off?
