Vent: Just had a customer blame me for their laptop battery dying after they left it plugged in all the time for two years.

Adding to what @matthew_owens9 said, honestly those smart systems only do so much. Batteries still wear out from use and heat over time. Like, even plugged in, it's going through tiny charge cycles that add up. After two years of constant use, losing battery life is just normal wear and tear.

Yeah @hunt.pat, normal wear and tear for sure.

Hold on, that blame is misplaced. Modern laptop batteries are managed by smart systems to prevent overcharging. Leaving it plugged in might not be ideal, but two years is a normal lifespan for heavy use. The real killers are usually heat, or it was just its time to go.
