Tried using a can of compressed air to clean a dusty server and it started playing music

The fan blades were so caked with dust that the air rushing past them made a weird whistling tune for a solid 30 seconds. Has anyone else had a PC part turn into an accidental instrument?

That "weird whistling tune" thing is so real. My old laptop fan used to do something similar when it was dying, but it was more like a sad little siren. It would start up and my whole desk would hum at this one awful pitch. I ended up taking the whole thing apart just to make it stop, and it was packed with this weird gray fluff that wasn't even normal dust. Felt like I was performing surgery just to get some quiet.

@claire_ramirez22 you're bringing back memories, that gray fluff is exactly what I found in my old HP (like, 2012 vintage) when the fan started making this low growl sound. I thought it was regular dust too, but it was this weird fibrous clump that almost looked like dryer lint mixed with cat hair. Felt so satisfying to clean it out, though I nearly broke the whole thing prying off those stupid plastic clips.
