The IT manager told me my cable management was slowing us down
Last month at a small office in Phoenix, the IT manager watched me run Cat6 and said my patch panel layout was creating too much cross-talk interference. He showed me how separating power from data cables and using shorter patch cords cut our network errors by 15%. I'd been doing it the same way for 4 years without thinking. Has anyone else had a boss call out a bad habit you thought was fine?

I read that even small cable bends can mess with signal strength, so maybe he was onto something.

Honestly @the_anna, is a tiny bend really gonna wreck signal that bad in a normal home setup? I've seen people run cables around corners in their living rooms with tight 90 degree turns and still get perfect picture quality. Ngl, this sounds like one of those things that's technically true but barely matters in real world use.
