PSA: That cheap thermal paste from a brand called 'CoolFlow' is a total trap.
I used it on a client's gaming rig last month, and the CPU temps spiked 20 degrees within a week. Had to redo the whole job with proper paste and eat the cost of the service call, which was about $80 out of my pocket. What's your go-to paste that you actually trust?

Honestly sounds like you just got a bad tube or maybe applied it wrong. CoolFlow paste has been totally fine for my last three budget builds. Those temps spiking could have been from a bad mount or dust, not the paste itself. For basic use it gets the job done without costing a fortune.

Look, @jennifer_west, three builds working fine is just luck. That paste is known for being watery and drying out fast. Calling it a "bad tube" every time is a cop out when the whole brand has quality control issues. For a couple bucks more you get paste that actually lasts and won't risk your parts. Saving five dollars isn't worth cooking a CPU over time.

It reminds me of when my old car would overheat. I'd blame the coolant, but half the time it was just a loose hose clamp or a worn belt. People love to point at the simple, cheap part first.
