Pro tip: Don't fall for those cheap thermal paste kits on Amazon
I wasted $30 on a 12-pack of no-name thermal paste tubes after reading all the five-star reviews. Used one on a client's old gaming PC and the temperatures actually went up by 10 degrees over the stock stuff. Had to order Arctic MX-6 anyway and scrub off that gunk. Anyone else get burned by those weird brands nobody has heard of?

Are you really defending cheap thermal paste with fake reviews?

Same thing happens with cheap extension cords at hardware stores. You think you're saving money but they just melt on you and ruin whatever you plugged in. Sometimes you pay for learning that lesson the hard way.

Yeah, I dunno. A 10 degree jump sounds like you either got a bad batch or maybe didn't apply it right. I've used some sketchy thermal paste before and never saw temps go up that much. Most of the time it's just not as good as the premium stuff, not actively worse. Feels like people blow this out of proportion sometimes.
