Most people skip driver updates on refurbished business machines
I see it all the time in my shop. Someone brings in a Dell Optiplex 7040 they bought off eBay, and the wifi keeps dropping or the USB ports act flaky. 90% of the time it's because they never went to Dell's support site and grabbed the chipset and network drivers from 2021. Have any of you noticed how many problems a simple driver refresh can solve on these older machines?

Oh my, I had a buddy spend two weeks troubleshooting a flaky trackpad before updating the chipset driver fixed it instantly.
