I've been using canned air on dusty laptop fans for ages, but a client's overheating MacBook Air finally made me check the service guide and it says to hold the fan still with a plastic spudger first.
Has anyone else run into this, or am I just the last one to figure it out?

Hold the fan, don't spin it with the air.

Honestly river, I feel you. William's comment made my brain do that little stutter thing, like when you try to read a sentence three times and it just won't click. I have no idea what holding the fan is supposed to achieve.
