Customer PC builds from 5 years ago vs now...

I cracked open a tower I built back in 2019 and the cable management was a nightmare with all those thick SATA cables and the old power supply wiring... now in 2024 every build I do has way cleaner routing with just an M.2 drive and a modular PSU. What changed the most for you between older builds and modern ones?

the cable management was a nightmare" - man that hit home lol. I think the biggest shift for me has been how everything is so much more standardized now. Like back in 2019 you had to worry about SATA power cables and data cables taking up space, but now with M.2 drives and modular PSUs its like building with Legos. Kinda reminds me of how kitchens changed too, used to be every gadget had its own cord now everything just plugs into USB-C or wireless charging pads. Its nice but sometimes I miss the chaos of older builds, felt more like you actually built something haha.

Feel like you're looking at it backwards honestly. Those cable messes forced you to actually learn how things work together and troubleshoot properly. Now everyone just plugs in a couple things and calls it a build but they have no clue what to do when something goes wrong.
